INTERSOCCER: BECOME A FOOTBALL COACH | |||||||
|
|||||||
The 12 Labours of Football Coaching “We’re not looking for the next Manchester United manager,” said Rossa O Brien, InterSoccer’s regional coordinator for Geneva and Vaud. “We are looking for people who like spending time with kids, who want to be outside instead of cooped up in an office, and who want to help children engage and learn through football.” “We don’t need them to be already qualified,” explained Rossa. “We can help with training and all our jobs are part time, in the afternoons or at weekends, so they fit perfectly with whatever else you do for a living.” Applicants need to speak a good level of English, and ideally French or German too. They should have a Swiss Work Permit and be available in the afternoons or weekends. The posts are all part time. Visit www.intersoccer.ch and fill in the ‘Coaching Opportunities’ form on the ‘Job Opportunities’ page. The trials will take place in Geneva on Sunday 3 March, Basel on Saturday 9 March and Zurich on Sunday 10 March. Applicants cannot just turn up on the day – they must be registered in advance. Further trials will be organised later in the year for applicants who can’t make those dates. InterSoccer, the largest grassroots football provider in Switzerland, runs courses for 2 to 13-year-olds, and vacation camps for 3 to 13-year-olds, in Basel, Geneva, Vaud, Zug and Zurich. Most camps and courses are outdoors, though there are indoor courses through the winter season.
